What we do at DrMzi

We have extensive experience with research, training, workshop and meeting facilitation. We offer a facilitation style that is engaging, aptly paced to meet the needs of participants with different backgrounds and at different levels of understanding of the subject matter. We have access to diverse facilitation skills and tools, and we mix these to suit our client/partner’s objectives for the intervention.We offer training for various audiences and topics. We work with training material/manuals that you provide to us, or develop training materials where needs be.

We specialize in baseline, midterm and end term project evaluation and basic research. We work with our partners to develop, implement, and conduct studies that address their needs. We provide external support and training to research teams/departments or firms. We also provide research report writing services.We offer organisational development services focused on capacity building for staff. We work with organisations to assist them to development strategic plans. We conduct background research facilitate the strategic planning sessions and compile the reports.

PhD Public Health (University of the Witwatersrand | Johannesburg) MA Research Psychology (University of Natal | KZN) BA Honors (University of South Africa | Johannesburg) BA + Higher Education Diploma in Education (Post grad) (University of Western Cape | Western Cape) An award – winning gender specials Dr Mzi Nduna. Author of three books. Dr Mzi is well published with four special issue journals, 61 peer reviewed journal articles, seven book chapters. Mzi Nduna, an author of ‘A magnifying glass and a fine-tooth comb: understanding adolescent girls’ and young women’s sexual vulnerability’ is an educator, a researcher and an advocate with a strong ethic of community engaged scholarship to bridge the gap between science, theory and practice. With a background in research psychology and public heath, Mzi has over 20 years of consulting whilst working fulltime for various employers. Mzi has vast experience in NPO boards and national technical task teams. Mzi was a finalist for the 2017 Businesswoman of the Year Award in the Education category, a recipient of the 2017 Queen Mamjoli Award for her contribution to Education for Community Development and is a 2020 SocioPreneur of the year Award winner.

Oyama Tshona holds a Bachelor’s in Human Resources from the University of Johannesburg (UJ). Oyama is a pro-feminist gender and human rights Blogger covering various women’s issues in her blog called Thetha Ntombi! ("Speak Girl!") which is inspired by her work on Gender-Based Violence against women and girls in South Africa, as well as a need to positively contribute and participate in uncovering and implementing authentic solutions.  She currently serves on the Board of The BEAR Foundation. Oyama has admin and recruitment experience and joined DrMzi as an Associate Researcher. She works in the areas of Gender-based Violence and Femicide, Human Rights and Equity, and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights; a Training materials Developer and Facilitator in Advocacy and Community Development.

Mfundo Khumalo, a student of financial management at Ingwe Tvet College, is 20 years old. Having successfully completed his N4 Financial Management with a score of over 70% in the Financial Accounting module, he now serves as a financial administrator at DRMZI. Despite his brief time there, he has acquired significant insights. His academic pursuits are focused on comprehending the operations of the banking sector and the worldwide impact of financial institutions on diverse facets of society                 .

Suanne Cumming is a Graduate in Human Resource Management. She is presently looking forward to pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Education, having recently completed a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) online Certification. Suanne has worked as an HRM Intern for 2 years at the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature, and was part of the Small Project Foundation for another 2 years as a Community Projects Developer. She operates with integrity and is always willing to impact the lives of those around her in a positive way. Suanne joined DrMzi in May 2024 as a Project Administrator.
